Your PCC Needs You!

At our Annual Meeting on Sunday 30 April we will be electing 3 new PCC members: people to represent our congregation in the governance of our church. Nominations will be invited in advance to fill two vacancies for a term of three years and one for a term of two years. Our PCC meets ten times a year (one of which is an Away Day). If you would like to know more about becoming a member of our PCC then please speak to Martin.

Thank you, Helen

As many of us know, Helen de Fraine has been our Hall Bookings Manager for the last three years. When our previous manager, Carol Rose, moved away in January 2014 it proved impossible to find anyone willing to take over from her. Thankfully, Helen - who also manages Hall Bookings at St Mary, Oatlands - kindly agreed to do it for us as well, on a temporary basis! In the course of her three years, Helen has built up the Hall usage for us, and with everything running so smoothly it is now possible for Sarah Tourell to include Hall bookings amongst her list of duties. As of this week, Sarah is now our Hall Bookings Manager. So thank you Helen for all you have done for us - and for being there when we needed you! And please remember, you will always be welcome at St Peter's.

Tea Towels

Our TEA TOWELS in the church kitchen are really quite tatty and well past their best. If you have some new tea-towels that you would be prepared to donate as replacements would you kindly give them to Anne-Marie Humphrey. Thank you.

Remembrance Prayers

REMEMBERING THOSE WHO WE LOVE BUT SEE NO LONGER. In this season of remembrance you may be considering how to add a loved one’s name to those who we remember in our weekly intercessions in church. If so, please speak to any member of the Ministry Team. We will arrange for your loved one’s name to be included on the Sunday immediately after the anniversary of their death.

Music to calm the soul

Bring a pillow/cushion for your back and slippers for your feet as MUSIC TO CALM THE SOUL returns on Sunday 29 January at 7pm in church. Refreshments will be available from 6.40pm. Join us for an hour or so, on the last Sunday of the month, for soothing sounds and relaxing classical music, designed to ease away the stresses and strains of the week, in the candlelit setting of our beautiful church. As this is an evening event if you could offer a lift to someone, or would like a lift please note your details on the sheet at the back of church.

Health and Safety Policy

The PCC have adopted a written health and safety policy. A copy of this is available on our website. One item of this policy is to enquire of you, the members of our congregation, once a quarter, whether you have any Health and Safety concerns that have come to your notice while in or around the church or church hall. If you have, will you please notify John Cramp - our Health & Safety Officer (via the Parish Office on 253452). Thank you.

Parish Prayer List

Our Parish Prayer List is placed next to the Candle Stand and is updated by Martin at the end of each month. The first column of the list includes those who we remember in our Sunday Intercessions. The second and third columns include those who suffer from chronic illness and who are housebound. The list also includes those soon to be baptised or married at St. Peter's, topical aspects to life at St Peter's, and some of the street names in Hersham. To add a name to our Prayer List please contact any member of the Ministry Team. If you would like to receive a monthly copy of the list for your own use then do speak to Martin. As a church family we need to be praying for each other.

Remember Loved Ones

If you would like a loved one to be remembered in our intercessions then please speak to any member of the Ministry Team. We will arrange for your loved one’s name to be included on the Sunday immediately after the anniversary of their death.

11.15 Special

Click here to download the general flyer for the monthly 11.15 Special held on the 1st Sunday of each month.

All drivers please remember that, even on Sundays, you are not permitted to park on double yellow lines in the vicinity of the Church. On a Sunday morning it would be very helpful if the first four parking spaces outside the church gate on the Burwood Road could be left for those who have blue badges, or have difficulty in walking. Parking tickets were issued on 15 February when Bishop Ian confirmed our three young people. Fortunately for the people concerned on that occasion the fines have been revoked.

Hersham Community Craft Group

Everyone welcome to come and join us for an evening of craft. St Peter’s Church Hall. Third Wednesday at 8pm. Cost £5 per person. Please speak to Sara Langley: Tel (01932) 881186 or Email: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

Prayer Tree

Our Prayer Tree has been re-planted at the back of the church! If you have someone or something you would others to pray for then please write your prayer request on a ‘leaf’ (available next to the tree), and tie it to the tree. Prayer requests will be included in the intercessions said at Morning Prayer and at the Fellowship of Prayer – and do please include them in your own personal prayers. Our Candle Stand continues to be available next to the Lady Chapel as an aid to our own private prayers – for ‘lighting a candle is a prayer’.
