"I just wanted to shout about how fab mini gems playgroup is at St. Peter's church. It's ran by some incredible people and it's so friendly! Today they'd gone and bought little pots of pansies so the kids could choose a colour and give to their mums for Mother's Day. Absolutely gorgeous! - Emma W"

TAG is for Year 7 upwards. Everyone in secondary school and sixth form college welcome. Start in Church at 6pm for worship (bring instruments if you wish e.g. guitars) then we will move to the Church Hall for activities and food. 8pm pick up for 15 years and under. 16+ years continue to Barley Mow pub for chat and/or board game, pick up by 10pm.

Games, friendship, discussion and activities for young people over 11 years, now meeting on the second Sunday of the month plus a monthly social.  The programme includes outings, games, events and barbecues or other food related evenings! The teenagers also help in a variety of ways at St Peter's.

Schedule

This is our Summer term list of dates and activities, which include a mix of community events, a church outing, a Cathedral event and Polyapes Church Youth Camp (whose dates and venue have moved). I’m aware that you may not be able to make everything, but please read the details about these events below and let me know which ones you can attend. Please also note that the dates for June and July’s pre-confirmation preparation have changed.

For May, we’ll just be meeting on Sunday 14th for our usual TAG 6-8 pm meeting.

This is because there’s plenty going on in June:
Sunday 4th June  a Youth Beacon event is being held at Guildford Cathedral. This begins at 4.30 pm with a Prayer and Food festival in the grounds with artists, hot dogs ice-cream, inflatables and live bands. Then at 6.30 pm there is a Celebration service inside the Cathedral with worship led by Ignite. This is a free event. Do let me know if you are able to attend.

This year instead of holding a Hersham Got Talent Show, I’ve joined up with the Hersham and Walton-on-Thames Cancer Research UK committee to hold a children’s fund-raising event called Little Legs for Life on Sunday 11th June. It’s the children’s equivalent to Cancer Research UK Race for Life and started in Hersham eight years ago, but there hasn’t been one in this area for the last two years. We now have at least six local schools involved and flyers will be ready at the beginning of the summer term. The event is being held in the afternoon at Esher Rugby Club but would any TAG members and their families be willing to help set up from 12 noon?

On Saturday 24th June, there’s a church outing to see the Life of Christ at Wintershall . This is an all day event telling the story of Jesus from his Baptism to his Resurrection. It’s a powerful drama as we move around the grounds of Wintershall following the action. All TAG members and their families are welcome to join us, especially if you are considering Confirmation this year. Cost is Adults £20, TAG or church youngsters £5 (reduced).  I am happy to supervise any TAG members who would like to come without their families. Please let me know by 9th April if you would like to come.

Please note, our usual TAG meeting for June has been moved to Sunday 25th June and is an hour earlier from 5-7 pm.

The Polyapes Church Youth Camp is now being held from Friday 30th June to Sunday 2nd July at Walton Firs. This event is hosted by Parish of Wisley with Pyrford and is an annual weekend of camping, games, tournaments and celebrations. Last year there were 150 TAG-aged youth from churches in the surrounding area.http://www.wisleywithpyrford.org/polyapes.htm  The monies raised at our fund-raising meal will go towards reducing the cost, so attending this event will just be £25. Please let me know if you are able to come.

Finally, please note that out usual TAG 6-8 pm meeting for July has been moved to Sunday 23rd July.
